The Kibbutz Artzi Choir was founded in 1958, and since that time, has developed a reputation as being one of the best choirs in Israel. Its repertoire comprises a great spectrum of classical and contemporary choir music from international and Israeli composers.

During its almost 50 years of existence, the choir has participated in performances with many great orchestras all over the world, particularly in the USA and Europe. It has performed under stage direction of such famous conductors like James Levine or Zubin Mehta.

The approximately 40 members of the choir are recruited from the kibbutzim of the Kibbutz Artzi movement all over Israel, and gather some of the best voices from all over the country.

Yuval Ben-Ozer has conducted the choir since 1990. Ben-Ozer is a graduate from the Rubin Academy of Music in Jerusalem, as well as the Music School of Indiana University. He learned his trade under conductors such as James Levine and Daniel Barenboim, and is considered to be one of the most promising offspring conductors in Israel. Under his guidance, in 1984 the Kibbutz Artzi Choir won the prize for the best representation of an Israeli composition by the Israeli Forum of Culture and Art.
